This Nakiri is forged from 1095 high carbon steel and differentially hardened. The blade itself is 8 inches from tip to heel, and just over 2 inches wide from spine to heel. It has been compound ground to allow for improved food release, and the blade features a forged to finish look that has been Parkerized for improved rust resistance. The it is a large knife and a cleaver, my recommendation is you you treat the sin edge gently, and use it with precision and care and this will turn formally labor-intensive work on squash, sweet potato, and large roots into an effortless task.
